1. What is a major centre?
Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, East London, George, Johannesburg, Kimberley, Nelspruit, Pietermaritzburg, Polokwane, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria. (Larger cities with airports, Globeflight have branches in all of these areas, Lowest delivery charges)
What is a regional area?
40km plus, outside of the areas as listed above, will be charged as Regional Areas.(Smaller cities and towns, slightly longer transit times, slightly higher charges, many of these areas will be delivered through Globeflight’s vehicles and our own regional delivery company, RWS)
What cannot be sent?
Firearms, money, passports and dangerous and hazardous goods.
Are my goods automatically insured?
No, please contact a customer services agent about our insurance options.
What is PP Online?
PP Online is our online system where you can track and track your parcels, pull reports and so much more. Please contact your sales consultant to set up a user name and password for PP Online.
What is the process to order stationary?
Contact your local branch sales consultant or customer services and they will ensure you get what you need.
For international shipments, even one a year, do I need a license?
Yes.
How do I register as an importer/exporter?
From the first export or import, your company is required to register with SARS. Application forms are found at: http://www.sars.gov.za/ClientSegments/Customs-Excise/Processing/Pre-assessment/Registration/Pages/default.aspx

Ensure your Export/Import Code is on your waybill for all international shipments.

What is a surcharge?
Mostly Globeflight will ask you to accept quotes for extra-ordinary trips, or delivery times, where extra, unique resources are employed to ensure compliance with your requirements. However with online and direct collections, this norm may be bypassed. Therefore we re-iterate here, that surcharges for the following deliveries may be charged: Saturdays & Dawn Deliveries, After Hours, Sundays, Public Holidays, Ports & Harbours, Hi-Risk Areas, Remote Areas, Back Door Chain Stores, Farms & Game Farms, Embassies & Consulates and Tender Deliveries.
What is volumetric mass vs actual mass?
Globeflight will charge for shipments, based on the greater of either the volume or the mass of each.

What packaging does Globeflight offer?
Globeflight do not offer as a norm, any packing for shipments. While there are 2 sizes of plastic sleeves which we provide, we do not provide boxes, tubes or any other packaging.
How will I know if I have packaged my goods correctly?
International Air Traffic laws say that a package must be able to be dropped repeatedly from shoulder height without damage being caused, then it is good enough to be couriered.
What is the fuel/transport surcharge?
This is charged based on the ruling fuel price at the current time.
